Cycle of Nature
I just finished packing up all my paintings and display for Artwalk in San Diego this coming weekend - April 28-29th from 11am to 6pm. I am looking forward to seeing my family and friends and relieved that I was able to get everything done. We leave tomorrow, just need to add the toothbrushes and of course, the dogs! The above painting was the last to be finished and took on all sorts of colors before the final version. I  love not knowing where I am going with a painting until, all of a sudden "I arrive." This painting is large 30"x30".
Here is a photo of one of the art dolls I created for the event. These were so much fun and gave me the chance to use up all the little bits I have been hoarding for a special project. Needless to say, I went to the local hardware store and bought more wood so I can make more of these when I get back. ..

Lastly, I made the deadline to finish my sketchbook for The Sketchbook Project Limited Edition Project .
One of the spreads will be selected to be included in the Sketchbook Project Limited Edition Vol. 1. This will be a collaborative series of art books created by 5,000 artist participants from all over the world. I can't wait to see what comes from this project. Here are my final 2 spreads:
This is the center spread. I used faces left over from my doll project for the page.

This is the last page. I wanted to keep it simple. This is a stencil I made from my favorite collage "face." I use a Copic Marker spray system for the paint.
